Ireland v Oman (29-08-2016)

Ireland have faced Oman twice before in 2012 and 2014, winning 4-1 and 2-0 respectively. This is the second time Oman have visited the Aviva Stadium, and arrive on the back of a recent 1-0 win against Turkmenistan. Oman have already been eliminated from their own 2018 World Cup campaign, going out in the second round of the Asian qualifiers. They are ranked 107th on the FIFA rankings, having dropped thirty-five places in the last ten years. Despite this statistic, they cannot be underestimated at the moment with such calibre as their current manager Juan Ramon Lopez Caro in their ranks. The Spanish national has been involved with the likes of Real Madrid and Celta de Vigo and will be as prepared as possible for their friendly against Ireland.
